I was just playing with my new macro filter again today :) I really like these shots, especially because I didn't have a tripod so they were hard to get lol

This is my first try with a macro filter :-) I didn't have any fancy flowers, so I decided to try a buttercup since they're growing freely in my yard :)

Remembering Baby

I have some of the greatest friends in the world :-) I went to get the mail today and there was a package from a friend of mine in Arizona. She had taken up donations from amongst my other friends from all over the country to send me, amongst other things, a bracelet commemorating the baby that we lost. The pictures truly don't do justice to how beautiful this bracelet is :-)

This charm has a rose on one side, and the word LIFE on the other, along with an amethyst colored crystal, symbolizing the month during which my child's life began...



This charm is a butterfly, with an aquamarine colored crystal, symbolizing the month that our baby passed away, and was able to fly away like a carefree, beautiful butterfly


And this charm simply says Wish, and has a topaz colored crystal, symbolizing the month that we had wished and hoped to hold our baby in our arms


And this charm has two little baby feet in a heart, symbolizing how my baby will always be in my heart... There is also a single teardrop, representing the millions of tears we have shed over the loss of our child.



And this charm symbolizes pregnancy and fertility, and has a moonstone (traditionally associated with promoting love and fertility), for when we are ready to try again.

How do you get him to sit still?

That's what everyone keeps asking me. "How do you get him to sit still for pictures?" lol The secret is, I stuck him in a tree! He simply couldn't get up and move! lol!

I haven't updated in a while. This was actually a couple of weeks ago lol We went to our local park, which a few weeks earlier had flooded. Well, when the river flooded the park, it deposited a lot of sand, so it's like having a giant sandbox or going to the beach! It was so much fun :)

I posted a couple weeks ago that we were pregnant. Some dreams end too soon as many of you know, and our baby has died. There are no words to express the depth of the love we already had for this child. He or she was very dearly wanted and will be even more dearly missed. I just wanted to let everyone know. If I think of a way to represent our loss through photography, I'll post it here.

Fly Me To The Moon

Times like these make me want to run out and get a super long lens lol! I love love love looking at moon shots, but the longest lens I have is a 200, so I can't get the close, crisp shots everyone esle does. But these I don't think are too bad for a first attempt!! There was a total lunar eclipse last night, and while I missed the moon going into eclipse and in total eclipse (the moon was too low on the horizon -- yet another reason to move to London haha), I was able to capture a couple that showed the eclipse :-D

Finally!!

We're so excited! We've been trying for a while, and FINALLY succeeded!! :-D

Seeeee, I DO give him healthy snacks!

So I was showing my mom the pictures from my last entry, and she said "Do you ever give that child a snack other than a popsicle?!" lol so I snapped these for proof :-D



And this one's my favorite but alas, nobody likes it but me... Good thing it's in my house and nobody else's huh? ;-P

Fun with Leaves

Being February, you'd think we would have gotten up all the leaves from the yard, but think again! lol James and I played outside today and he had a blast! We decided to come back in after the wind tore a roofing panel off of the shed though :-O


And of course, we had to end our romp with a creamsicle :-D

Well, my toddler son got into the bathroom today and unwound the toilet paper this morning lol so I rolled it back up as neatly as possible and took a picture. I didn't think of photographing the giant pile of toilet paper that was in the floor before I cleaned it up lol But I'm sure, knowing him, I'll have a second chance sometime soon :-P

Money money money

Saving money, that is :-) Coupons are just another joy of being a single income family lol But, I can't complain. I save $20-$50/week if I coupon and comp shop.. Which adds up to more photography goodies >:-)

So I'm late posting

But I swear I took this on the 8th lol! It was a super busy day, and we didn't get home (and therefore back to internet access) until after midnight. But anyway, I was attempting (and failing at) the different light setup that was suggested to me.. He didn't want his picture taken though, so this is the only decent one I got lol That's what I get for trying to take pictures before nap time :-P

Day 21

So I was supposed to take pictures for a friend of mine today. I set up my lights and my backdrop, and then she called and said she couldn't come because her daughter was sick... So, rather than waste all that effort, I snapped a couple self portraits :-P I'm tellin you, I'm dangerous when I'm bored lol

We were over at my MIL's house this evening, and James built a block tower, and then promptly knocked it down again... lol Maybe he'll grow up to be in construction :-P
